I chose the Love2Live Board because I was intrigued with knowing that I would have an additional way to give back to my community in a positive way. Many of us can attest that there were not many accessible programs like Love2Live when we were growing up. I plan to assist in helping accomplish Love2Live’s goals by dedicating my time, patience, listening skills and passion in ensuring bright futures for children. It truly takes a village to prepare our children for this world today. I truly believe that if we collaborate and take the time to equip our young people with the basic tools to succeed, we will make a huge impact in our community. If we train up a child in the way that they should go, they will not depart from it.

My 1st grade teacher is one of the mentors that I didn’t know I needed in my life until adulthood. Her name was Ms. Jackson, and every morning, we had to recite the creed for our school and a quote that has helped me still to this day. The quote states, “Many people will doubt what you say but they will always believe what you do.” If you are a parent like myself that wants the absolute best for her children, if you are a big cousin to a little cousin that needs a little extra love and guidance, if you are an aunt/uncle to a niece or nephew whom is lacking a zeal for their future, if you know any child that is need of time and guidance—it is our duty to not leave one single child behind.

I will close with my quote that I tell my children often, “Anything is possible, but that is only possible if you are capable of believing in the impossible”. It is possible for Love2Live to be an awesome program for your child.
